About the role:
We are recruiting a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Family Assessment and Support Team (FAST) . This is an exciting opportunity for a social worker with a background in safeguarding, child protection, and family support to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake statutory social work duties including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children cases
- Complete assessments, care plans, and risk assessments
- Manage a diverse caseload within a locality-based team
- Lead and participate in strategy discussions and case conferences
- Carry out Section 47 enquiries and safeguarding investigations
- Work with multi-agency partners
- Produce court reports and documentation
- Ensure compliance with Children Act legislation
- Promote early intervention and family support
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England/Social Care Wales registration
- Degree in Social Work
- Experience in children’s social care or safeguarding
- Strong knowledge of UK legislation
- Good communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage caseloads
Candidates are required to work their first 4 weeks in the office, 5 days per week.
The working pattern after this 4 weeks will be reviewed. Typically, the SW team work 1 day from home and 4 days between the office and doing family/children visits.
Candidates MUST be 3+ years post qualified to ensure we are following dfe regulations.
Average caseload for each social worker will be around 20-24.
