About the Role:
We are recruiting a committed and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Adoption Team. This role is central to delivering high-quality adoption services, supporting children to achieve permanence, and working closely with adoptive families to ensure positive, stable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of adoption cases, including assessments, matching, and placement support.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of prospective adopters in line with adoption regulations.
- Contribute to permanency planning for children, ensuring timely and appropriate matches.
- Provide support and guidance to adoptive families pre- and post-placement.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children throughout the adoption process.
- Work collaboratively with Regional Adoption Agencies and partner organisations.
- Participate in adoption panels, reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree or equivalent.
- Registered with Social Care Wales.
- Experience within children’s services, ideally adoption or fostering.
- Strong understanding of adoption legislation, safeguarding, and child protection.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Desirable:
- Experience working within an Adoption Team or Regional Adoption Agency.
- Knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Adoption and Children Act 2002.
