About the Role: 

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Adults Safeguarding Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team. This role focuses on protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. You will lead safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 and work with partner agencies to achieve safe outcomes. 


Key Responsibilities: 

- Lead safeguarding enquiries (Section 42 Care Act 2014) 

- Undertake risk assessments and safeguarding planning 

- Manage complex, high-risk safeguarding cases 

- Work with multi-agency partners (police, NHS, housing) 

- Apply Mental Capacity Act and DoLS 

- Chair or contribute to strategy meetings 

- Embed person-centred safeguarding practice 

- Maintain accurate case records 

- Support service users and carers 

- Contribute to service improvement and audits 


Requirements: 

- Degree in Social Work 

- Social Work England registration 

- Experience in adult safeguarding 

- Knowledge of Care Act, MCA, safeguarding law 

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills 

- Experience of multi-agency working 


Desirable Skills & Experience: 

- Experience chairing safeguarding meetings 

- Knowledge of domestic abuse and self-neglect 

- Experience with Court of Protection 

- Understanding of Making Safeguarding Personal 

- Familiarity with case management systems
