About the Role:
We are recruiting a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Children & Families (C&F) Fostering Team. This role is ideal for a social worker with experience in fostering or children’s services who is committed to improving outcomes for children in care by supporting foster carers and ensuring safe, stable placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of foster carers, providing regular supervision, support, and guidance.
- Undertake assessments, reviews, and foster carer approvals in line with fostering regulations.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children placed in foster care.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with children, foster carers, and partner agencies.
- Contribute to care planning, permanency planning, and placement stability.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and statutory reviews.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with organisational and legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree or equivalent.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience working within children’s services, ideally in fostering.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and fostering regulations.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Previous experience in foster carer recruitment and assessment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
